A note from Mrs. Sutter…

Our school was buzzing with volunteers on the day before Christmas Break!  Parents were bringing snacks, helping teachers in the classrooms, driving students to visit their Pillars of Faith, assisting with office work, and lending a helping hand wherever needed.  We are part of a special family here!

Thank you so much for your willingness to help out in so many ways!  Volunteers are an essential part of our success as we grow kids in Christ, community, education, and excellence.

As always it is good to have students back in school.  We are nearly half way done with the school year!  It has gone quickly and has gone well.

May God bless you in this new year of 2008!

FANTASTIC FUND DRIVE
Our Fund Drive is nearing a close and on behalf of the G.C.S. staff and school board, we wish to extend a sincere thank you to all who helped us in reaching a total of $33,000 so far.  This money will be used for the operating expenses of our school.  Thank you for your continued and loyal support.

 Just a few things~
Because our portable has been a temporary solution, we want to let you know that the board has formed a steering committee to look into future debt-free options.

Thank you for pulling into the parking spots when dropping students off and picking them up.  It has really helped traffic flow more smoothly during the busy times of the day.

Basketball Corner
The girls’ team was in action Tuesday home versus New Era.  After a close first half the lady chargers could not hold off the quick offense of New Era,    suffering a tough loss.

The boy’s team pulled off a great all around team effort to defeat New Era 35-25.  The boy’s distributed the ball in a game in which over half the team scored and Sam, Michael and Taylor had 10, 9, and 8 points respectively.  A big thank you from the coaches for a great crowd at the game to support our kids.  Both teams are in action next week here versus Beaverdam.  Please come out again to support our Chargers.

Please use a separate order sheet for each student and return forms with payment to the office by Friday January 18.  One check may be written for all of your children and should be made out to the W.H.Y.  It is important to return hot lunch forms promptly, because food is ordered ahead of time.  Please no “last minute” orders.
