This morning was our last chapel of the school year! The kids had a time to sign each other's yearbooks along with singing some awesome songs! The middle schoolers were also acknowledged for honor and top honor roll.
We were also able to have a time where every kiddo was able to pick a prize for getting their name in the "getting caught in the act of being kind" container throughout the school year. All of the prizes are from Storehouse of Community Resources in Grand Rapids. The Storehouse connects millions of dollars in corporate product donations to the needs of nonprofits and schools. What a great morning at GCS!
Field Day 2025
We enjoyed a delicious cookout for lunch, followed by a new group of field day activities with our chapel groups! Such a fun day! ☀️

Today our kindergartners had a great trip to John Ball Zoo! They have been learning about zoo animals and loved getting to see their learning come to life! It was chilly, but they had a great day!
Today the 5th and 6th graders surprised Mr. Neville with a party for his upcoming birthday! (They are a year ahead; he will be 74) What a great bunch of kids!
We were blessed to have "Ask the Pastor" this morning at Chapel!
Thank you to Mark Nagy from Grant Christian Reformed, Mitch Taylor from Living Stones, and Jordan Chambers from Grant Community for answering our kids' questions. Some of the questions.... was Jesus ever sick, who made God, why were other planets created, who made the sun, what do you like/dislike about being a pastor, etc. You guys rock!
Our 8th graders are enjoying their trip to the ark! What a great experience for them to encounter the stories of the Bible this way!
Second graders loved their ice cream today. They earned another party for showing Jesus to others. Great way to end the year second graders!
GCS 7th and 8th graders are in a program called Men/Ladies of Honor.
This is a class that only 12 other schools in West Michigan are participating in.
The kids meet twice a week, boys with Mr. VZ and girls with Mrs. Oatis.
Last Friday night there was a ceremony in Rockford at City Church for their annual awards ceremony. Students were given awards in courage, character, compassion, leadership and diligence.
Our Preschoolers had a special morning with their moms today for Mommy Muffin Day! Such a special time together!🌸

The third and fourth graders cleaned out the flowerbeds in front of the chicken coop. They then planted cosmos and zinnias in one flower bed to attract butterflies, and in the other bed, they planted parsley, dill, and carrots. These will attract swallowtail butterflies.
Our first and second graders thoroughly enjoyed Boulder Ridge today, despite the rain!
This week is teacher appreciation week! We are so blessed at GCS with a great teaching staff! Let's take some time this week to show them our appreciation! 💙

Today was visit day in Kindergarten! The Preschoolers got to come see what it is like to be a Kindergartner! They played, they learned, and even had some adventures!
