Looking for bullfrogs and turtles at recess today.

"My sweet Kindergartners graduated this afternoon! I am so proud of them! They have learned so much and I've loved seeing their hearts for God grow! Their lights for the Lord shine bright! My prayer for them is to continue to shine their lights for all to see and to use their gifts and talents for His Kingdom! I have loved being their teacher! Congrats my almost 1st graders!"

Yesterday was our cook-out/field day at GCS. We started with a fabulous lunch...burgers, brats, hot dogs, fresh fruit, fresh veggies, chips and four different types of dessert! After lunch the competition was on. Kids competed in chapel groups at the 40 yard dash, beanie baby blast, potato bowling, mind/teamwork games, zoom and flip the tarp. We completed field day with tug of war. The staff even got in on the action, to be defeated by the 7/8 graders!

Here are a few pictures of the 7/8 graders science books they are putting together.

Today was bike day during P.E. class! The kids were also able to ride them during recess.

Recess part 2...from playing with friends to enjoying the nature that God created for us to enjoy!

Recess...Such an important part of our day!

The preschoolers did a science experiment in their class. They put bean seeds on a moist paper towel and hung them in their classroom window to see if they would grow without dirt. They were amazed to discover that they started growing! Now, they will take them home and plant them in dirt to continue watching them grow.

We are excited to announce that today we received a $300 check from B2! We had the privilege of being their mission of the month back in March! We are so grateful for their partnership with GCS!

Today at the end of Chapel we were able to pray over Mrs. Q as this is her last day at GCS awaiting the arrival of her new baby.

Today Mr. Vander Zanden and Mrs. Dickerson took the top readers from each grade to lunch. They ordered from McDonald's and headed to the river to eat. They also were able to get ice cream on the way back to school. Great job kids!

We are so blessed with our band/music program at Grant Christian School! Every spring the kids put on a concert. This year our theme was God and Country. This was our most creative concert ever. Our kids sang solos, ensembles, played recorders, put on a Virginia Reel Dance and more. Thank you to Mr. Gordon Neville for giving kids the courage to showcase their talents!

We had a great afternoon at the Whitecaps! Thank you West Michigan Whitecaps for sponsoring this reading month program! 💙⚾️📚

A little band practice outside today!

We love buddy time at GCS! The preschoolers visited the third and fourth graders today, and learned about the lifecycle of chickens. They read a book and did a fun project together! They even got to see real baby chicks that the third and fourth graders hatched from their own flock!

On Tuesday, May 2 our entire middle school went to Sus Manos to perform a service project. The day we served, they were preparing apples. The apples are washed, destemmed, chopped, and loaded onto trays for dehydration. Sus Manos Gleaners seeks to obtain surplus or discarded produce from various sources such as local farmers, corporations, and individuals to be processed and dehydrated using volunteer labor and industrial dehydrating equipment. Once dehydrated, the produce will be compounded into a soup base and fruit snack in such a way as to maximize its nutritional value. This end-product will be packaged in 55-gallon drums to be distributed by various Christian overseas missions as part of their ministry to populations facing critical food shortages. The dried product maintains its nutritional value but is obviously much easier and more economical to ship and maintains a much longer shelf-life.

Mommy morning muffin at Grant Christian preschool!

Yesterday Grant Christian School hosted National Day of Prayer. What a wonderful time to come together as a community, from several counties and different denominations to pray and give praise to a mighty Savior! The National Day of Prayer is an annual day of observance designated by the United States Congress and held on the first Thursday of May, when people are asked "to turn to God in prayer and meditation".

The 3rd and 4th grade classroom has some "peeping" going on! Several baby chicks hatched yesterday and today.

Our Kindergartners enjoyed a trip to Frederick Meijer Gardens to see the butterflies after completing their insect unit! Many students even got to hold one! 🦋
