Today the 8th graders led chapel! We focused on Psalm 23.

2nd graders played math games with their middle school buddies today!
Our 8th graders are having a pop can drive to help pay for their class trip! You may drop them off at GCS or contact the school (231-834-8445) for pick-up. They will be traveling to the Ark Encounter in May.
Today our Kindergartners had their star party for earning 55 stars for being caught putting others before themselves! Way to go Kinders! They even got to do "comfy" math today with partners! They had ice cream, wore their comfy clothes and got to watch a movie about arctic animals!
Third graders tapped the first maple tree of the season on Monday. 4th, 5th and 6th graders have also gotten to help with this project. They tapped 11 trees total. While the season is off to a slow start, they collected a quarter of a bucket of sap today when they went out to check the trees!
Yesterday, our 1st graders and their MS buddies created a crazy creature. Then together they wrote stories about this new creation! How fun!
Today the preschoolers were able to go on a bear hunt in the kindergarten room! The preschoolers made binoculars, and the kindergarteners hid the bears. They were all "successful hunters."
A small glimpse of the week at GCS:
Mr. Vander Zanden , Piper and Shae put on a skit at chapel this week, centered around Proverbs 26:11. We talked about getting bad habits out of our life and not returning to them.
We were able to enjoy local beef (hamburgers), french fries and milkshakes for hot lunch on Thursday.
We sure enjoyed the sunshine today and a little warmer temperature!
On our 100th day of first grade, we learned how many times we can write our names, stand up and sit down, draw a star, and many other tasks in 100 seconds.
The students thoroughly enjoyed their gift exchange, and many thank yous were heard throughout the room as the day ended.

This week our Middle school students had a special spirit week! As a part of student government, Addison Sparks, made this her first duty as class president! She will be heading up a chapel as well next month!
